Virtual Professionalism Workshop

The CIA’s Professionalism Workshop is delivered through both an e-learning module and a two-day virtual event that provide participants with a solid grounding in professionalism concepts, making extensive use of the case-study method. This workshop is a requirement for qualification as an Associate of the CIA (ACIA). 

Requirements

You will require a CIA Student or Candidate membership to attend the Professionalism Workshop. Your registration will be rejected if you do not have an active Student or Candidate membership at time of registration.

Reviewing the pre-workshop materials and completing the e-learning module are required before attending the virtual workshop.

Day 1

9:55-10:00 – Session sign on (required)

10:00-10:30 – Introduction to the CIA and professionalism

10:30-12:00 – Communications session

12:00-12:30 – Lunch

12:30-13:30 – CIA Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Practice

13:30-14:00 - ACIA designation, general membership information and responsibilities, and FCIA qualification requirements

14:00-14:30 – Q&A and Day 1 closing remarks

Day 2

10:55-11:00 – Session sign on (required)

11:00-12:15 – Professionalism session

12:15-12:45 – The CIA disciplinary process

12:45-13:15 – Lunch

13:15-16:15 – Professionalism case studies

16:15-16:30 – Your next steps and closing

 

While the Professionalism Workshop may be used by members to reach their required 80 hours of continuing professional development, it may NOT be substituted for the mandatory Professionalism Module, which is required in addition to the 80 hours of CPD.

A $840 registration fee, plus applicable taxes, applies for all candidates. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and spaces are limited. The Register now button will grey out when registration is at capacity. There will be no waiting lists.
